Also in Obertauern, skiing is the clear No. 1 sport. That said, every sports discipline is welcome in our region! Traditional sports meet the hippest new “kids on the block”. Obertauern is certainly no stranger to freestyling, boarding in the Longplay Park, snow-kiting and even snow volleyball. Along with those other classics under the winter sun, including winter walks and snowshoeing, sleigh rides and ice stock – thanks to our snowy winters, everything is possible!
If you don’t wish to rely on machines to get you up the mountainside, then you’ll probably want to outfit your touring skis with some skins and head to one of the beautiful ski-touring routes located close to the actual ski area. Fans of Nordic skiing will likewise find 26 km of cross-country trails certain to meet every expectation.
